We have been using this blog to share the joys of our two little ones with friends and family that don't get to see the girls nearly often enough. However today we want to use it to spread the news of the passing of our beloved boy Kobuk.
Kobuk passed away on Tuesday, November 24th 2009. Some of you may know he was recently diagnosed with cancer, and was given 1 final year with us. We knew the end was coming for him, but we never imagined it would come so quickly. It was not cancer, but his heart that ultimately failed him. He was with me in the car that day while I was making my account calls, and I was thankfully by his side later that day in the vets office when we put him to rest. His heart was slowly failing and was not able to circulate blood properly. Thankfully he was in no pain, just very tired.
Kobuk was a 120lb-130lb (depending on how much Jill spoiled him) perpetual puppy with 50lbs being his head, 50lbs being his heart with the rest being all feet. He was overly social, intelligent, excitable, loving, but most of all just overly sized. Most everyone knew him as the biggest handful they have ever seen, really he was just never able to stand the idea of being isolated from any dog or person within his vicinity.
We are sad to say goodbye to him but are thankful that he did not have to suffer a slow deteriorating death. We waited a long time for him to grow out of his puppy stage, but in the end we are counting our blessings that he never had to.
